Invest in Cameroon
Africa in miniature — your gateway to the 200-million-strong CEMAC and ECCAS markets.
Why Invest in Cameroon
Cameroon stands at a defining moment. With a young, bilingual workforce, three deep-sea ports, abundant natural resources and a national strategy targeting upper-middle-income status by 2035, the country offers investors a rare combination: scale, stability and untapped value. From agribusiness to renewable energy, real estate to digital services, Cameroon is open for business — and Wainfen Holdings is your trusted partner on the ground.
Priority Investment Sectors
Ten high-potential sectors, each backed by government incentives and real demand.
Agribusiness & Agro-Processing
Cocoa, coffee, palm oil, banana, cotton, cassava — Cameroon's fertile soils and varied climates support virtually every tropical crop. Opportunities span mechanised farming, processing plants, cold-chain logistics and export packaging. Agriculture contributes ~22% of GDP and employs more than 60% of the active workforce.
Energy & Renewables
Africa's third-largest hydropower potential, plus growing solar, wind and gas-to-power projects. The government actively partners with private investors through PPPs in generation, transmission and rural electrification programmes.
Real Estate & Construction
Urbanisation at 3.5% per year is driving record demand for affordable housing, commercial offices, mixed-use developments, hotels and industrial parks in Douala, Yaoundé, Kribi, Limbe and Bafoussam.
Maritime, Logistics & Ports
The deep-water port of Kribi, the historic port of Douala and the niche port of Limbe form the backbone of Central African trade. Opportunities include terminal operations, ship chandling, bunkering, dry-docking, freight forwarding and bonded warehousing.
Mining & Extractives
Iron ore (Mbalam, Nkout), bauxite (Minim-Martap), gold, diamonds, cobalt, nickel and rutile — most deposits remain underexplored, offering frontier-grade returns for serious operators.
Forestry & Wood Processing
The Congo Basin holds the second-largest tropical forest in the world. FSC-certified sustainable timber, value-added wood products and carbon-credit projects represent fast-growing niches.
Tourism & Hospitality
Beaches of Kribi, Mount Cameroon, Waza National Park, the Ring Road, Lake Nyos — combined with chronic under-supply of quality hotels, resorts and eco-lodges. Significant runway for international brands.
Digital Economy & ICT
Mobile penetration above 80%, expanding fibre backbone, growing fintech and e-commerce demand. Data centres, software services and digital payments are particularly attractive.
Manufacturing & Industry
Substitution of imports in cement, steel, packaging, processed foods, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods — supported by Special Economic Zones and the AfCFTA single market.
Financial & Business Services
Underbanked population (<25%), rapid mobile-money adoption, demand for insurance, microfinance, leasing and professional services. Significant whitespace for new entrants.
